Witch's Special Brew

Witch's Special Brew

Witch's Special Brew

I baked a pound cake in a bundt pan. Turned the cake upside down and shaved off the outer ridges to make it more rounded.

I covered the cake with buttercream frosting and rolled out two pieces of black fondant. I covered around the cauldron and on top. Rolling and pinching them together to form the lip of the cauldron. I kept the hole in the center where I placed a small plastic cup which was later filled with some water and a mini fog machine to create a spooky mist.

I molded the witch completely out of fondant. For the flames, I combined red, yellow and orange fondant but didn't completely mix them together. Then I cut out the multi-toned flames. The cake board was also covered in black fondant.

I used pretzel rods for the logs under the cake and for the witch's spoon. I topped off the cake with gummi worms, eye balls and spiders. This witch is brewing something special!
