Organizing Kids Rooms
Easy Storage Ideas for Kids Rooms
Organizing kids rooms is not particularly hard, but you just need to have a think about- - the type of toys that your kids have
- which of those toys they use all the time
- which toys they want on display
Certain toys will lend themselves to certain types of storage for kids rooms, and we want to make it EASY for our kids to keep their room clean, right!
An old saying, is good to keep in mind..
"A place for everything and everything in its place"
When items are grouped, and have a place then at clean up time, they don't just get shoved anywhere, but into a specific box, tray, basket, that they specifically belong in. Kids learn very quickly where items belong, and it makes cleaning up faster. There are a couple of main types of kids bedroom storage-
Hampers and pop out cloth storage can hang in wardrobes and can store a variety of items: - shoe and clothes organisers
- mesh hangers for soft toys (these don't work with heavier items as they warp and stretch)
Just make sure that if you want your child to use the hanging storage themselves, that they can reach into the compartments!

Keeping It Natural- Eco Options
If you're like me and are not a big fan of plastic- go for wooden shelving with a mix of cane, rattan and woven storage baskets to keep toys in or to use for a clothes hamper. All of our baskets are different colors and shapes, adding interest, and also making clean up easier. There are a large range of colors, sizes and shapes available to suit the color scheme of any kids room.

Cleaning Up Tip- I often suggest at clean up time, that we (me included), each start by picking up one item and puttting it in its place. This is followed with, 'now how about one more?' Before you know it the job is done, and we have worked together to do it.
