Elmo Cake and CupCake Cones

Elmo Cake and CupCake Cones

In a few steps you can make these simple, fast, and sure fire hits for your kiddos class party! These cupcakes travel very well, come with a built in base and holder, and are entirely edible with no messy papers or wraps left at the end. This will make them an ideal choice for outdoor parties.

To start off these cupcake all you need is a box of ice cream cones, box of your kiddos favorite cake mix, tub of icing, sprinkles, cookie sheet with a lip, and tin foil.
Simply cover the cookie sheet with tin foil making a nice tight cover. Take a knife and make little x shapes evenly spaced across the cookie sheet, these will hold your ice cream cones steady during baking. Next insert your cones. Assemble your cake mix following the box instructions, and poor into the cones, leaving about ΒΌ of an inch from the top. Cook your cupcake cones following the cake mix instructions, or until the tops are nice and golden brown.

Let your cupcakes cool, but still leave them within your tin covered cookie sheet. This will give you stability for icing, and traveling. When your cupcakes have cooled ice them using a spatula or your chosen decorating tip. Sprinkle the tops with sprinkles, and WALLAH! You now have a cupcake all the kids will be talking about!
