Christmas Cupcake Ornaments

Cupcake Christmas Ornaments

Cupcake Christmas Ornaments

To make the Christmas Ornament Cupcakes, I didn't have the Wilton Mini Ball pan so I made my own ball pans using foil and a clean baseball.

I molded the foil around the ball and formed 12 half balls. I placed them in a muffin tin and filled the 2/3 full with batter and baked at 325 degrees for 18-20 minutes. I also baked a dozen cupcakes.

Next when the cakes are cool, level both the underside of the 1/2 balls and the top of the cupcakes. Attach the balls to the top of the cupcakes with buttercream. Ice the tops of the balls as smooth as you can.

Cover the top with rolled fondant. Using royal icing pipe designs on , let harden and paint with luster dust. Make toppers out of fondant and attach with royal icing. Arrange in decorative tin with tissue paper, allowing only the tops to be seen. This gives the appearance that they are ornaments and not cupcakes.

Happy Holidays!
